Art Raffle: Only 130 tickets will be sold, at $100 each, in a raffle for $10,000 worth of western art. The collection includes one piece from each artist in the 2007 WRCA Cowboy Art Show and Sale. Rodeo fans kicked off the 12th annual World Championship Ranch Rodeo by attending the art show premiere November 7th.
 
WRCA director Earl Kuhn, left, is one of the artists featured in the Cowboy Art Show and Sale. All of the artists have first-hand knowledge of the cowboy lifestyle that allows them to portray their subjects with honesty and insight.

JaNeil Anderson of Redrock, New Mexico, offers an honest-to-goodness portrayal of ranch women.

 

Photographer Bob Moorhouse, renowned for his depictions of working cowboys, was named Best in Show artist in the 2007 art show. Moorhouse is also a WRCA director. This photo is titled “Contemplation.”

 

Announcer and auctioneer Randy Lewis presided over the Calcutta auction Nov. 7 during the art show premiere. The teams were “sold,” and the buyer of the world championship team will receive 50 percent of the pot. The remainder will go to the Working Ranch Cowboys Foundation.

 

 
The American Quarter Horse named top horse at the World Championship Ranch Rodeo will receive special recognition from the American Quarter Horse Association.
