Rodeo & Ranch Equipment

On the Priefert ranch in 1964, Marvin Priefert built his first headgate. That single piece of ranch equipment became the foundation of one of the of the largest and most respected ranch equipment manufacturing companies in the world. For the past few years the WRCA and Priefert has come together to provide contestants and spectators alike with a top notch arena and this year is no different. If you’re in the market for one panel or 50, the World Championship Ranch Rodeo is the place to be. The fine folks at Priefert will be offering the arena panels, either in part or in whole at a great discounted price. This is the best deal out there, so stop by the Priefert booth and let those guys know you are ready to take home the World Championship Ranch Rodeo arena- Literally.

Hats off to a WRCA-Resistol Partnership!

The Working Ranch Cowboys Association and Resistol, both American originals, are proud to announce a partnership. Resistol has been named the official hat of WRCA and the World Championship Ranch Rodeo.

It’s a natural partnership, since Resistol has provided quality products for cowboys since 1927. The company’s new Bandera collection of straw and felt hats are made with the working cowboy in mind. The WRCA and Resistol honor the working ranch cowboy – the individual whose cowboy hat is not about fashion but a necessity.

WRCA welcomes Resistol to its growing stable of sponsors who are committed to preserving the heritage of the ranching lifestyle. These companies proudly aid in the missions of sending ranch kids to college and providing assistance to ranch families when serious injury or illness strikes.

The partnership between the American Quarter Horse Association and WRCA is a natural one given that the vast majority of our members use American Quarter Horses to get the job done. Since WRCA was founded AQHA has supported our mission by being a strong partner for all WRCA activities.  AQHA’s sponsorship of the World Championship Ranch Rodeo and the ranch horse show has helped WRCA grow into the organization we are today.

The WCRR has also been the place where AQHA has chosen to present the Bayer/AQHA Best Remuda Award, along with a reception at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, located in Amarillo.

While many of you have brought your horse paperwork with you to take care of while you’re in Amarillo, this year AQHA is bringing its services to the trade show. Visit the AQHA booth in the trade show to take advantage of On-Site Services if you need to get a foal registered or transfer that good gelding you bought last week. Now, you can take care of all of your AQHA business right in the trade show.

AQHA and WRCA are proud to continue the ranching heritage of the American Quarter Horse. Here’s to riding good horses.
AQHA SPONSORING RANCH RODEO TOP HORSE AWARDS
America’s Horse, February 22, 2010 – The partnership between the American Quarter Horse Association and the Working Ranch Cowboy’s Association just got better for American Quarter Horses. Recognizing the American Quarter Horse’s legacy on the ranches of the American West and as the chosen mount for generations of cowboys, the AQHA Top Horse Award will recognize the top registered American Quarter Horse at each WRCA-sanctioned rodeo.

AQHA has been a strong supporter of the Working Ranch Cowboy’s Association and the World Championship Ranch Rodeo since its inception 14 years ago. Recognizing the horse, the owner and the cowboy cements the American Quarter Horse’s spot on today’s ranches, while encouraging ranches and cowboys to maintain AQHA membership and up-to-date horse transfers.

The AQHA Top Horse Award will consist of a $250 cash prize to the rider of the top American Quarter Horse at each WRCA-sanctioned rodeo and an AQHA bronze trophy to the owner of the top American Quarter Horse at each of those rodeos. The winning horse must be registered and its AQHA paperwork must be up to date.

WRCA  is proud to announce its new partnership with the premier Cowboy and Sportmen’s products maker in the industry, the Denver Tent Company. Denver Tent has been making the Colorado Tent line of tent products since 1890 and can meet all your outdoor product needs from large party tents and wall tents to stoves, range tipi’s, fishing creels, bedtarps and much more. You will be able to order your Denver Tent products through the WRCA website in the next few weeks or you can call them now directly at 1-806.374-9722.  Mention that you are a WRCA member and you will get a discount and an equal donation will be made to WRCA!   Its a win win!

Also, we would appreciate if you ask Denver Tent for a WRCA logo’d product.  It does add a small amount to your cost; but a larger donation and increased advertising for the WRCA is the result and we would be very appreciative of this assistance!

Dean Morrison and his team at Budweiser of Amarillo have been a very important partner with the WRCA since we produced the First World Championship in Amarillo.  Budweiser has helped us grow throughout the last 14 years, their participation behind the scenes has played a major role in the growth of our organization.  Our contact at Budweiser of Amarillo is Tracy Young.  He has been our best friend in the Amarillo area, helping us with hospitality, the media and anything else we’ve asked.  Tracy and the crew at Budweiser ensure that the hospitality room is fully stocked, which we all know is very important.

The addition of the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales has also made a major impact in not only our visibility in the community but also in the surrounding communities where they travel to during the week of the rodeo for photo opportunities for the public with the giant steeds. The members of the Hitch, led by Pete Peterson have also helped in many ways including our “Introduction of Teams” held on Wednesday night as a kick off party for the rodeo.

Thank you Budweiser of Amarillo!!  Here’s to the King of Beers.

The WRCA uses Ranch Rodeo to bring attention to our cause and to generate money for our Foundation. We sanction the finest Ranch Rodeos across North America to bring the top Ranch Teams to the World Championship Ranch Rodeo held in Amarillo Texas the second weekend in November. Help in Times of Crisis – We provide funds for Working Ranch Cowboys and their families in times of need. Our support is confidential and requests generally come from neighbors, family and friends. The Working Ranch Cowboys Foundation has been helping people for 14 years.  Scholarships – The WRCF provides school funding support for Working Ranch Cowboys and their children. We currently have 32 Students in our program. The Foundation grows every year as does the number of Students we can support.
