Trudy Fair performs a one-act play, “A Way in the West: Women on the American Frontier” as part of the WCRR’s tribute to women in ranching.

Flock to the “Happy Toy Maker” Jerry Sims’ booth in the Ranch Expo.

Honeyman Badger Kid from the Reeder Ranch puts the pedal to the metal in the team penning event.

The WCRR spotlight is on team penners … and all the talented cowboys who can rope, ride and wrestle!

Budweiser driver and hitch supervisor Pete Petersen has a lot of reins to handle driving the eight-horse Clydesdale hitch, and he does it with aplomb.

Blake Rainsdon of Sunlight Ranch gets his horse moving out outside the Amarillo Civic Center. This year for the first time, temporary barns were set up in the adjacent parking lot, allowing team members to keep their horses on site, rather than hauling in for each performance.

Little kids and big horses make a good combination at the WCRR’s Ranch Expo. The Budweiser Clydesdales are stalled inside the Expo, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with the gentle giants.

A pickup man for the ranch bronc riding wears the Harry Vold colors. Vold, who supplies bucking stock to the WCRR, has been named the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association stock contractor of the year 11 times. His horses are not easy ones to ride.

Fist bump! Quentin Gass of the Thompson Ranch team congratulates Buster Frierson of the Bradley J3/Veal Ranch team on a successful bronc ride. Frierson scored a 73.

Matt Koch of Haythorn Land and Cattle rides through a liftoff in Friday’s ranch bronc riding. He earned a score of 76.

Deseret Ranches hauled all the way in from central Florida. Here, they make a run in the stray gathering event. This is the team’s first WCRR.

Team members and their families scrutinize the team photo … it’s a great group, but a little hard to make out individual faces in the sea of horses and cowboy hats.

Small but mighty. Don’t let anybody tell you a pony can’t make a good rope horse!

The WRCA uses Ranch Rodeo to bring attention to our cause and to generate money for our Foundation. We sanction the finest Ranch Rodeos across North America to bring the top Ranch Teams to the World Championship Ranch Rodeo held in Amarillo Texas the second weekend in November. Help in Times of Crisis – We provide funds for Working Ranch Cowboys and their families in times of need. Our support is confidential and requests generally come from neighbors, family and friends. The Working Ranch Cowboys Foundation has been helping people for 14 years.  Scholarships – The WRCF provides school funding support for Working Ranch Cowboys and their children. We currently have 32 Students in our program. The Foundation grows every year as does the number of Students we can support.
