Chuck Milner and family entertain veterans at the VA Hospital in Amarillo on Thursday, the day after Veterans Day. The WCRR always pays special tribute to veterans, and this is just one way to do so.

Jeff Gore performs at the VA Hospital. The cowboy entertainers also take their performances to Amarillo schools, sharing the cowboy culture and traditions with local fourth-graders.

So many teams they almost didn’t fit in the photo! This picture will adorn the official 2009 WCRR poster.

Look at the storytelling that was going on as the teams waited for everyone to get into position for their group photo!

The Thompson Ranch team speeds into the arena during Thursday night’s opening ceremonies.

Opening ceremonies are always marked with the playing of the “Star Spangled Banner,” an invocation and a tribute to military veterans. WRCA loves the US of A.

Last year’s top hand of the WCRR, Hegan Lamb, performs a sliding stop after he presented the American flag.

During the rodeo, spectators were privileged to witness several young men and women be sworn into the United States Air Force.

Jared Taylor ponies Zacks Cowboy O Lena, a yearling that he and his wife, Bridget, donated to the WRCF Crisis and Scholarship Fund Auction to be held Saturday morning. The Taylors also donated a yearling filly, Zacks Peppy Baby.

Kid Horse, a 6-year-old sorrel gelding by Little Badger Kid, puts an immediate stop to the cow in the wild cow milking event. Kid Horse is owned by Reeder Ranch and is one of the horses nominated for the top horse award at the WCRR.

The audience gets plenty of enjoyment from the wild cow milking … it’s good to see the cowboys laughing, too.

The majestic Budweiser Clydesdales made their appearance in the WCRR arena. They are being housed inside the Ranch Expo at the WCRR, so come and visit them!

The WRCA uses Ranch Rodeo to bring attention to our cause and to generate money for our Foundation. We sanction the finest Ranch Rodeos across North America to bring the top Ranch Teams to the World Championship Ranch Rodeo held in Amarillo Texas the second weekend in November. Help in Times of Crisis – We provide funds for Working Ranch Cowboys and their families in times of need. Our support is confidential and requests generally come from neighbors, family and friends. The Working Ranch Cowboys Foundation has been helping people for 14 years.  Scholarships – The WRCF provides school funding support for Working Ranch Cowboys and their children. We currently have 32 Students in our program. The Foundation grows every year as does the number of Students we can support.
